What is Avistio?
Avistio is a local-first experience for Frigate-based video security installations, with optional Cloud access and a Partner workflow for installers.
What is the difference between Edge and Cloud?
Edge runs locally at your site. Cloud adds authorized remote access, site management, health, and notifications.
Do I need Avistio Cloud?
No. Edge can operate locally without Cloud.
Where are recordings stored?
Recordings remain on the local Edge and Frigate installation. Avistio Cloud does not upload your recordings as Cloud storage.
Does Avistio require Frigate?
Avistio integrates with Frigate as the local NVR and video backend. Avistio is independent and not affiliated with the Frigate project.
Is Home Assistant required?
No. It is an optional integration used for Avistio alarm functionality.
When does the Cloud trial start?
The 10-day customer Cloud trial starts when the first site pairs successfully. Trial expiry pauses Cloud features, not local Edge.
How many sites are included?
Home includes one Cloud site. Pro includes three Cloud sites.
What is Avistio Partner?
A separate organization workspace for installers and security companies. Home or Pro is not required to create a Partner organization.
Can my installer watch my cameras?
No. Partners do not receive live video, recordings, event media, snapshots, or alarm controls. Before claim they can see bounded commissioning health; after claim, status access is off unless you enable it.
Does Edge continue if the Internet is unavailable?
Yes. Local Edge, cameras, recordings, alarm, and configuration remain local.
